Fall 1906 Results

As the last of Germany's centers are divided up like a steak thrown to a pack of wild dogs, the lone remaining German unit finds itself in the unprecedented position of having the British and Russian armies defending it against each other. Meanwhile in the north, England and Russia jockey for position, with England's slow naval assault matched against Russia's attempt to carry their Navy through the snows of northern Finland.

With it's home city of Venice under siege, Italy refuses to go quietly, threatening the south coast of much-needed ally England while recklessly ceding the Ionian in an attempt to pull a "delayed Lepanto." With Turkey and Italy both threatening each other's home lands while England and Russia spar over Scandinavia and northern Germany, we may have a stalemate developing in central Europe. Will someone be crafty enough to punch through? Or treacherous enough to turn on their allies?

The moves:

Note: Russia's attempt to support St. Petersburg into Norway failed because the fleet on the Finnish coast is not adjacent to Norway.

The results:

There are no retreats. The following adjustments are due Wednesday (7/29) by midnight:
England: 8 supply centers, 7 units. 1 unit may be built.
Germany: 1 supply center is, 2 units. 1 unit must be removed.
Italy: 9 supply centers, 8 units. 1 unit may be built.
Russia: 8 supply centers, 7 units. 1 unit may be built.
Turkey: 8 supply centers, 8 units. No units to build or remove.

Apologies

Gentlemen, I have an apology to issue all of you. As I'm sure you are all aware, I am directing a camp this summer and have limited communication. While that may not be necessarily accurate (I can get 1 bar of internet in my cabin) shit piles up quick, and I have been enjoying disappearing off of the grid for the summer. This has led me to neglect my diplomacy responsibilities out of no lack of respect of interest for the game but out of pure disinterest with staying "plugged-in" over the summer. Before I left for the summer this was one of the best games of Diplomacy I've played and I hope more will be played in the future that I can be a bigger part of. For the rest of the game, I leave the decision up to the interested parties left what the best course of action would be for my remaining 2 units. If it would be best for me to declare them in civil disorder for the rest of the game, I can certainly do that. If people think that such action would get in the way of the game or provide one person with an unfair advantage, etc. then I can certainly make an effort to strike up diplomatic relations with the remaining countries and play my role. It has been a pleasure, and I apologize if my neglect has held up the game as I'm sure it has. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I wish to see everyone soon. Take care, happy hunting, and auf wiedersehen from die vaterland.

Spring 1906 Results: The Kaiser's Vacation

Owen Landrey continues to prove his position as the irresponsible Landrey, with his forces in Civil Disorder once again. Germany is now on double-secret probation: No moves will be accepted from them after the deadline.

This turn saw more gains by the juggernaut. With the Germans on holiday and the Italian and British navies far outnumbering their armies, it's going to take a herculean effort by the Western powers to avoid Eastern supremacy.

Moves for the spring:

And the results:

There are no retreats (Denmark and the Adriatic could not retreat and were destroyed).

Moves for Fall 1906 are due Sunday at midnight.

By the way

Why has no one congratulated Bill on his tremendous victory in last months's election?

A slow descent into horror

Let me paint an analogy for you. Once there was talent. Things started on a high point, there were zombies in a music video. Then things went wrong. horribly wrong. If you don't hurry this game along I see a long slow descent into pedophilia and madness. Please, for all our sakes, get this game done. or the consequences could be beyond our worst nightmares.

Winter is Over

The question on every one's mind as we head into Spring 1906 is this: Where is the Kaiser? Two German units have just sort of gotten high and wandered off; will the Kaiser be back to prevent further damage?

Over the winter, Italy built a fleet in Naples while the Russians built an army in Moscow. Meanwhile the German unit in Belgium was disbanded.

That leaves us with this board as we head into the Spring of 1906:

Moves for the Spring will be due on Sunday at midnight. Godspeed!

Winter 1905/1906

Italy retreats from the Ionian to the Tyrhennian, England from Brest to the Channel, and Russia from St. Petersburg to Livonia. Meanwhile Germany failed to turn in moves so his fleet in Holland disbands. This leaves us with:

Fall 1905 Results

Ah, the Fall! Leaves turning, brisk breezes, and wholesale slaughter on the continent.

This fall, Tsar Leo gives his brother a healthy does of brotherly love (pictured), while England proves themselves more than willing to spend the long, cold winter in St. Petersburg. Meanwhile, Italy continues the trend of central European countries moving Westward at the expense of their Eastern fronts, capturing centers in Northern France while the Turks knock on their door in the Mediterranean.

Will the Germans ever again taste the delicious pretzels at the Hoffbrau House? Will the Italians learn to prefer French wines before their own country is eating only Baba Ganoush? Do the English really prefer borscht to pate? Whose cuisine will reign supreme?

The moves:

The results:

The following retreats are due by Tueday (that's tomorrow!) at midnight:
Italy must retreat from the Ionian Sea to the Tyrhennian or Naples (or disband).
England must retreat from Brest to Piccardy or the English Channel (or disband).
Germany must retreat from Holland to the Helgoland Bight (or disband).
Russia must retreat from St. Petersburg to Livonia or Moscow (or disband).

Builds will then be due on Thursday night, with moves for Spring 1906 due on Sunday.
