Tom Is Too "Busy" To Process This Week, So I'm Doing It

Above:  Complete contents of Tom's briefcase
-------------------------------------------------------

While the Archduke was vacationing last week, pressing affairs of state piled up on his desk.  I'm stepping in and processing moves this week.  Send your moves to me at william.gerrard@gmail.com.  Lest anyone accuse me of shenanigans, I have already emailed my moves to the Sultan.  (France and Germany:  You've already emailed moves to Tom; he'll forward them to me later today, so you don't need to do anything.)

P.S.  You all have my word of honor that this is not just some clever (or not so clever) ploy on my part.  Please send the moves along ASAP so we can all get what we richly deserve.

Ahhh vacation...

Despite how ambitious I was, vacationing in South Carolina and processing moves at the same time is more of a nusiance then I had originally believed possible. I am postponing a week. Moves for the Fall of 1907 are due this coming Thursday. If anyone has objections, I can submit my moves (so the deadline is somewhat adhered too) and then not process them until Thursday.

The Partition of Poland

This will be the 101st post of this blog, and I would like to say, regardless of nationality, this has been a remarkably fickle and interesting game so far. and after I stopped and assessed the possibilities, I realized, horror of horrors, it is far from over.
An Assessment of the results Fall 1906 -
Pictured on the left, I have decided to redistrict poland according to a new, more ergonomic design. All Russian citizens will be kept in new G.ood H.ousing E.fficiencies T.errific T.o O.wn (or GHETTOS for short)
In the South, the Austrian governments careful assessment of the "Kill Craig at All Costs" plan, submitted by the Turkish Sultan has not fallen on deaf ears. Let me outline the primary aspects of the plan: (as related by the Sultan himself)
1. Craig must die. - This is the lynchpin of the entire plan, very important, works on several levels
2. Craig can't drive, and therefore can't get away. - An excellent point, a bike simply can't outrun an 8 cylinder Hemi
3. Craig is short. - Again, this plan rings of truth. Bullying short people is natures way of teaching them their place.
4. Craig is in a different time zone, and therefore, cannot be trusted. - correct again, I often wonder if I am talking to a Craig from some alternate timeline, or a future craig. One time he told me the sun had not yet set where he was....where is this strange place? New York's time zone is the only necessary one.
Finally, here is a quote I attribute to Owen, even though he never said it,
"Tom, lets be serious for a minute. Craig wins at everything, he always beats me. One time, when I was at home, he even beat me to the shower...and I don't know how he got in my house at 5am. There are a few things you can count on in this world; The sun will rise in the morning, Dennys will never be good for you, your haircut will never change, and I will wish for Craig's unending suffering...in short Tom, you can count on me."
The West - Larry the cable guy manages to control Berlin, and Sweden as the scandanavian campaign becomes a quagmire for all involved. Russia's epicly swift collapse continues and France's gallant crusade to stay alive continues to baffle all involved by succeeding (in large part due to my treachery)
Stay tuned: midgame awards are on the way.

Move for the Fall due on Thursday this week: 2/7

Saturday, February 2, 2008

The Date is now Feb 2nd, the day before the Superbowl. I have not received moves from Bill Gerrard or Larry Ansehl. And am waiting on them.

As the game is (theoretically anyhow) drawing into it's final phases, and there are those among us who stand a very low chance of winning or survival, it is time to have a serious conversation about the penalties for submitting late. As to date, there have been none.

I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this point. In the interest of speed, and possibly starting a new game with new countries and an opportunity for people to take revenge on me for all the wrongs done to them, we need to vote on the criteria for civil disorder.

I propose the following definition and rule: Any country which has not submitted moves within 24 hours of the deadline will be declared to be in civil disorder (without a government) all units will hold.

If any units are dislodged and forced to retreat and no orders come in for those retreats, those units are retreated off the board.

If this falls at the end of a fall turn, and it is necessary to destroy units in the absence of supply centers, I will remove one unit that is farthest removed from the fighting or the front lines.

If anyone has any additional suggestions or alterations to this rule, please post in this forum or as a comment to this post.

BILL GERRARD AND LARRY ANSEHL HAVE 24 HOURS TO SUBMIT MOVES

at 10 am on Sunday I will process without them.

Anyone who has already submitted may not alter moves at this point. Me included.
