This time, I doubt the Germans will be greeted as liberators.

Winter 1902, waiting on 1

Still waiting on Turkey to submit his winter orders.   Please get them in by the end of Today, Saturday or the unit farthest from a center will be disbanded.

Winter 1902 retreats

Russia disbands its Fleet in Sweden and retreats Army Rumania to Ukraine.
Which results in this beautiful map.

So for the builds...
Austria Hungary now controls 6 centers and may build 1 unit.
England now controls 5 centers and may build 1 unit.
France now controls 5 centers and may build 1 unit.
Germany now controls 5 centers and may build 1 unit.
Italy now controls 5 centers and may build 1 unit.
Russia now controls 6 centers and may build 2 units.
Turkey now controls 3 centers and must destroy 1 unit.

As to the coast issue, I'm only trying to be fair.  I will take accept your argument Matt, if the unit in question holds, no coast needs to be given.  But if the unit in question is moving to or from a coast specific territory, it must be specified.  I hope that is reasonable.  If the issue comes up in the future, the group can put in their two cents.  Or if anyone else wants to have their say now, please do.

Builds and Destructions are due by Friday at Midnight.
Orders for the Spring of 1903 are due the following Friday.

Coast? What coast?

If one is moving to a territory with two coats from a territorty that is adjacent to only one of those coasts, I think it's unreasonable to demand that specification.  If I move from Greece to Bulgaria, then of course I'm moving to the south coast: I don't have another option (by the way, I did specify a coast in that move).

This rule seams even more out of touch in the last move, where my unit in Bulgaria was holding.  It was on the south coast so if it holds, it is holding on the south coast.  Units supporting it are obviously supporting its hold there.

Failure to denominate a coast should only be penalized in cases where the move is ambiguous due to the lack of specification, as would be the case when moving from the Middle Atlantic Ocean to Spain or from Constantinople to Bulgaria.

Just my two cents.

Winter 1902

Russia has 2 retreat or disbands, please submit by Wed at midnight or they will both be disbanded.

Builds will be due Friday at Midnight.  Any builds not submitted by Sat at midnight will be forfeited for the year of 1903.  You will have to wait until the following winter for a chance to build.

Busy?  Any concerns about making the deadline?  Let me know in advance.  Otherwise its your loss.  I have no problem making exceptions, I just need to know before the final deadline.  Thank you.

Fall 1902

To all participants of this game, it has come to my attention that there has been a great deal of inconsistence on my part as far as holding to deadlines and making it public which date is the deadline.  As we are past the holidays, the delays should stop.  As for the consistence, that will change as of now.  So my apologizes if I have not kept this game running as smoothly as some of our previous processors, I will do my best from here on out.

The moves were as such

Austria-Hungary

Budapest -> Rumania

Galicia supports Budapest -> Rumania

Trieste -> Budapest

Serbia supports Bulgaria*

Bulgaria holds*

England

Belgium holds

North Sea supports Belgium (order written as holds and supports Belgium, unit cannot do both, but common sense says Damian wanted this unit to support, and so it did.)

Norway to Sweden

English Channel holds

France

Picardy -> Belgium

Burgundy supports Picardy to Belgium

Paris supports Picardy (this is an invalid order, you cannot support a unit if it is attempting to move to a province that the supporting unit is not adjacent to.  If Picardy was holding, then his support would be valid.  Picardy was attempting to move to Belgium.  As a result, Paris holds.)

Mid-Atlantic Ocean -> Portugal

Germany

Denmark supports Norway -> Sweden

Kiel -> Holland

Berlin holds

Burgundy holds

Italy

Tunisia holds

Ionian Sea -> Eastern Med

Naples -> Ionian Sea

Greece supports Bulgaria*

Russia

St. Petersburg -> Norway

Sweden supports St. Petersburg -> Norway (unit dislodged and must retreat or disband)

Prussia -> Warsaw

Ankara holds

Rumania holds (unit dislodged and must retreat of disband)

Turkey

All units hold

*A reminder, no coast was specified in your fleet in Bulgaria.  I don't mean to be picky, but I asked Owen to specify for his fleets in St. Petersburg, and Leo did it in Spain.  Here is the warning to all players, if nc or sc is not specified, the unit's orders will be invalid.   From this moment forward, and here is a final warning, all orders written w/o the specific coast will cause the unit to hold.  Please be advised.

The results...

Russia has two units that need to retreat or disband.
Russia, its on you to get your retreats in asap.  Please do so by the end of the day Wed.
I would like to have the winter adjustments due this Friday.  Once I get retreats from Owen and Craig, I will post a pre winter adjustments map letting everyone know how many builds they will have.

a dish best served warm

The End of Turkey

It's time for the part of the game where I feel sorry for myself. The difference between the last several times and this one? I won't be making a comeback or trying for one either. My position is so poor strategically I just don't see the point. Despite my attempts at having allies all of my overtures with neighbors and friends seem to have fallen on deaf ears or been passed off for better offers. I have nothing to offer except my carcass, and I won't dignify that idea with more than a moment's consideration. It stands to reason that the first time I get a decent draw I'll be eliminated in a few short turns. All my units will hold this round...as they will continue to do until I am eliminated. You can choose to believe this is another ploy on my part or not, it doesn't matter. Nothing I said in this game to anyone appears to have been listened to. Give me a ring in a few months when it starts up again. Good luck to the other 6 players.
P.S. - Any email from anyone nearby looking for my units to lend them a helping hand will be thrown in the trash without being read, as will anything concialiatory from anyone. Happy New Year.

Spring 1902 - An Illustrated History

HAREM SCAREM
Matt, Josh, Owen and Craig perform a good old fashioned Turkish Bone Job on Tom -- a move attempted by yours truly last game, with poor follow-through. In truth, death comes as something of a relief to Tom's harem, as they were all getting sick and tired of being told they needed to watch Battlestar Galactica.

Spring 1902, Finally.
